The Wyoming Legislature this week will concentrate on ironing out differences between the House and Senate versions of the FY ’14 supplemental budget bill.
Both chambers on Friday approved the supplemental budget with their own particular amendments. Senate President Tony Ross of Cheyenne and House Speaker Tom Lubnau of Gillette said they expect each house will appoint a conference committee.
Its hard to believe, but we are already past the halfway mark of the 62nd gathering of Wyoming’s lawmakers.
Its safe to say the legislature’s decision to remove many of the duties of the state superintendent of public instruction has probably been the biggest story so far of this session. It’s easily the one that’s generated the most attention.
Now the voter-elected superintendent Hill has filed a lawsuit saying the new law, Senate File 104, is unconstitutional. Laramie County District Judge Thomas Campbell will hear initial arguments March 14th.
