Chaundra Sewell scores 2 of her Cowgirl high 16 points

The Wyoming Cowgirls survived a scare from Nevada and won their sixth straight Mountain West Conference game 66-65 last night in Reno.  With the game tied at 62-62, senior forward Chaundra Sewell hit two free throws with 21 second left in the game to put the Cowgirls up for good.  The one point win was a drastic change from the 51 point win the Cowgirls had had over Nevada the first time the two teams met in Laramie when Wyoming won by 51 points.   Cowgirl head coach Joe Legerski says the turnaround in games just goes to show just how tough it is for teams to win on the road in the MWC……JOE LEGERSKI   The Cowgirls scored 46 points in the paint and were led by Sewell’s double-double 16 points and 10 rebounds.  Wyoming did commit 17 turnovers that resulted in 18 Nevada points, and Legerski says that really hurt……JOE LEGERSKI  Senior Ashley Sickles had 15 points, sophomores Kayla Woodward and Kaityln Mileto had 12 and 11 points respectively.  The Cowgirls improve to 19-4 overall and 8-2 in MWC play.
