Cowboys Roll Past Nevada

By Keith Kelley posted Feb 13, 2013 at 9:36PM

It was a hot shooting night for the Wyoming Cowboys as they cruised past Nevada this evening 68-48. The win snaps the Pokes five-game losing streak in the Mountain West. Wyoming got big nights from a trio of players, but they were led by senior Leonard Washington’s double-double, 16 points and 12 rebounds.Wyoming shot 71 percent in the second half, and 9-18 from three-point range for the night, but Washington says it was the Wyoming defense that came to play.
The Cowboys did a good job of getting the Wolf Pack out of their zone early on in the game, as head coach Larry Shyatt says that was a big reason for the win.
Wyoming improves to 17-7 overall and 3-7 in the Mountain West. They host Fresno State Saturday afternoon.
