Wyoming senior wrestler Alfonso Hernandez has a lot on his plate these days.
The 197-pounder is studying to go to medical school, is married with two children and among the top ranked wrestlers in the nation in his weight class.
Hernandez has won 20 matches so far this season and only lost one to the defending national champion.
The 23-year-old Hernandez says he enjoys the process of working tirelessly toward his goals even though he never lets himself be satisfied with his success. It’s an approach to life he has developed over the years and one that he hopes will continue to inspire those around him.
He says he does see himself as a role model for Hispanic kids to be successful.
