The Wyoming Association of Broadcasters and Eastlan Ratings have recently completed a survey about Wyomingites habits when it comes to using the media.
Don Day is president of the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters. He says no one has ever polled Wyoming residents on how they use and consume media, including today’s new media usage.
Day says this was a double-blind survey that selected 400 Wyoming residents at random.
The survey also shows that Wyoming residents are embracing new media, but that traditional forms of media are still a vital part of their daily media use.
For example, the survey found that both women and men in the 18 to 49 demographic were some of biggest users of radio and television in Wyoming and at the same time were the biggest users of new media.
.
The survey shows that 90% of Wyoming residents still listen to the radio and 77% listen to the radio daily or on a weekly basis. When it comes to television, 95% of Wyoming residents watch television on a weekly basis.
The survey also says Wyoming residents who are searching for new music turn to local radio more often than internet download services such as iTunes and internet radio.
The full survey results can be found at wyomingbroadcasting.org.
