The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says several counterfeit $20 bills have been found in the area.

At this time, it doesn’t appear that any of the bogus bills have surfaced at any of the local businesses in county.

But, Buffalo Chamber Director Angela Jarvis says that with the holiday season in full swing, its not a bad idea for all businesses to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office tells our affiliate KROE the countefeit bills look and feel just like a legal twenty, but it does not have the embedded ribbon or the raised lower “20″ corner.
