Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a drive-by shooting Sunday night on the city’s eastside.
The Laramie County Sheriff’s Department says 27-year old Larry Turner of Cheyenne (pictured) is charged with attempted 2nd degree homicide in connection with the drive-by shooting that happened at about 10:45 Sunday night at an apartment complex on Cheyenne’s far eastside.
Police say people in the neighborhood heard as many as eight gunshots.
The Sheriff’s Department says five suspected gunshots holes were found on the east side of the targeted apartment and three went through a bedroom window.
There were three people in the apartment at the time of the shooting. One of the three was able to look out the window while the shots were being fired and identify a blue colored Ford Focus with Wyoming plates.
That led them to Turner who was later taken into police custody at his home not far from the apartment complex where the shooting occured.
Police say they also uncovered a number of 9mm shell casings near the apartment on Jefferson Road.
Turner is being held in the Laramie County Detention Facility pending his court appearances for attempted 2nd degree homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, and a felon in possession of a firearm.
