A Casper newspaper is seeking to force the Natrona County Circuit Court to release information about felony child pornography charges filed against a former Casper mayor.
The Casper Star-Tribune filed a lawsuit on Monday asking District Judge W. Thomas Sullins to order Circuit Court Clerk Debbie Meyer to open the case file of Larry Clapp (pictured).
The newspaper says the circuit court staff has refused to release any information in the case against Clapp, a prominent attorney who also served one term in the state House in the late 1970s.
Natrona County District Attorney Michael Blonigen confirms his office has filed charges against Clapp.
Clapp appeared in Circuit Court last week on the charges.
