Three Wyoming Dealerships Approved By Governor To Sell Natural Gas-Powered Vehicles To State

By Mick Birge posted Oct 9, 2012 at 6:15AM

Three Wyoming auto dealerships are now cleared to sell natural-gas powered vehicles to state agencies.

Those dealerships are Fremont Motors, Fremont Chevrolet-GMC and Spradley Barr. Fremont Motors has several locations statewide and Spradley Barr is in Cheyenne.

Governor Mead announced approval of the three Wyoming dealerships on Monday. He says having so many states involved in purchasing will provide an incentive for the private market to develop refueling infrastructure for natural-gas powered vehicles .

The dealerships submitted proposals through a 22-state initiative to encourage the development of natural-gas powered vehicles. The Wyoming car dealers outlined the specifications and costs of offering vans and large pickup trucks fueled by compressed natural gas.
