A cold front crossing the state today will bring spring snow to the northwest.  A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through Saturday morning for northwest Wyoming.  Up to eight inches of snow are expected there, with locally higher amounts in the mountains.   North central and northeast Wyoming may see some mixed showers along with some snow in the Big Horn Mountains.  Snowfall there will be lighter.

In the east and south, ahead of the front, temperatures will be quite mild today.  The wind will be the main weather feature there.  The wind, above average temperatures and low relative humidity will lead to high fire dangers there.  A High Wind Warning is in effect for much of central and southern Wyoming through this evening.  West to southwest winds will gust to 60 mph at times.  A Red Flag Warning is in effect for southeast Wyoming through this evening.  A Fire Weather Watch has been posted for eastern Wyoming for Saturday.

Later today and tonight the cold front will push through the rest of the state.  There may be a few rumbles of thunder further south, but for the most part eastern and southern Wyoming will see more wind than precipitation.  The front will usher in somewhat cooler temperatures for Saturday.
