Strong winds are expected to continue across Wyoming through tomorrow.
A 60 mph gust was reported Tuesday in Arlington in southeast Carbon County yesterday.
Strong winds are also expected in central and western Wyoming today. Gusts up to 80 mph are possible in the Absaroka Mountains.
I-80 from Laramie to Rawlins is closed. The westbound lanes from Laramie to Cheyenne remain closed. Fans that attended last night’s Wyoming-San Diego State women’s basketball game in Laramie are stranded in the Gem City. The game was played last night.
Stretches of Interstate 25 from the Colorado state line to Wheatland are closed to light, high-profile vehicles.
The northwest flow bringing the wind is forecast to bring snow to the western mountains. The Tetons could get up to 3 feet. The snowfall should raise Wyoming’s snowpack, which is now 89 percent of average.
