Cheyenne Police Looking For Man Who Led Them On Wild Downtown Chase

By Mick Birge posted Jul 22, 2010 at 4:41AM

Cheyenne police are searching for 30-year old William Jackson.  The Cheyenne man led police on a chase through the streets of downtown Cheyenne last night.  During the chase, the car Jackson was driving hit two other cars before he crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of Lincolnway and Central.  A passenger in the car with Jackson was taken to CRMC with what police are describing as serious injuries suffered when Jackson’s car struck the utility pole.  Police say Brittany Robbins was not wearing a seatbelt and the impact threw her up against the car’s windshield.

The chase began about 7:15 last night when police spotted Jackson driving in the area of 17th and Carey.  Police attempted to stop Jackson knowing he had outstanding warrants for his arrest.  The chase began and continued through the streets of downtown Cheyenne.  At one point, Jackson led police through an alley north of the Plains Hotel. Police say the two drivers of the vehicles struck in the chase were from out of state. Neither driver was hurt, though both vehicles did suffer significant damage.

Police are asking anyone with any information about the whereabouts of William Jackson to call the Cheyenne Police Department tip hotline immediately at 638-TIPS.
