The Central Rocky Mountain Rodeo Region regular season wrapped last weekend, and it capped an amazing surge for the defending women’s National Champions. Three weeks ago the University of Wyoming Women’s rodeo team was on the outside looking in, but the Cowgirls came from 450 points behind second second place Central Wyoming College to jump into second place and earn a birth to the College National Finals Rodeo, the top two teams in each region earn automatic spots at the CNFR. Gillette College won the CRMR title with 3,795 points, UW was second with 1,633.33. For the men, Gillette College made it a Pronghorn sweep with the team title with 5,545 points, Central Wyoming was second with 4,838. The CNFR comes out of the chutes next month in Casper.
