The Wyoming Cowboys and Cowgirls are heading into the Mountain West Conference Tournament on different notes.  The Cowboys lost to UNLV Saturday in Las Vegas 74-56.  Once again Freshman Desmar jackson led the Cowboys with 21 points.  The pokes finish the regular season 10-20 overall and 3-13 in the Mountain West.  They will play Air Force in the first round of the Conference tournament Wednesday in Las Vegas.

The Cowgirls came away with a 78-73 win over UNLV at the Arena Auditorium Saturday.  Wyoming saw a 13 point lead disappear, but a big three point shot by Sophomore Kristen Scheffler,  and key free throws sparked the Cowgirls for the win.  Scheffler says it was big win for the Cowgirls to gain some momentum heading into the Conference tournament……KRISTEN SCHEFFLER   Jade Kennedy led the Cowgirls with 23 points, Aubrey Vandiver had her league leading 15thdouble double 22 points and 10 rebounds.  The Cowgirls finish the season tied for fifth in the league, but with tie breakers will be the sixth seed In Las Vegas at the Mountain West Conference tournament.
