Dani Fisher of Gillette Celebrates after winning the 119 Pound State Title

A couple of long state title streaks were kept alive over the weekend, with state wrestling and state boys swimming and diving wrapping up their winter seasons.  In Wrestling, the Gillette camels won the state championship for the 8th year in a row, outlasting Star Valley.  The Camels sent ten wrestlers to the finals, and had four individual champions.  In class 3A, the Douglas Bearcats came away with the team title, edging Powell by just one point.  The Bearcats won five individual titles, with maybe the biggest one coming at 215, where they beat a Powell wrestler giving them enough points for the state championship.  Inclass 2A, Greybull/Riverside runs away with the title.

The boys state swimming and diving meet was held at the Aquatic Center in Gillette, and the Lander Tigers continue their strangle hold on the competition in class 3A.  The Tigers won their 14th straight state championship.  In class 4A, the Laramie Plainsmen left everybody in their wake, winning the championship by over 100 points, while winning five events.
