The National Weather Service has posted Winter Weather Advisories for many areas of southern and eastern Wyoming tonight through late Thursday. A small but moist Pacific storm system will overrun a surge of Canadian air tonight and through Thursday resulting in snow over all of Wyoming tonight and Thursday. Snowfall of 1 to 3 inches will be common across northern Wyoming with 2 to 5 inches across the central plains and southwest with southeast Wyoming picking up 3 to 6 inches of new snow. The central and southern mountains can expect 6 to 12 inches of new snow with the heaviest amounts along the north and east facing slopes. Hazardous travel and livestock weather is likely statewide tonight through early Friday morning. More snow will develop, especially in southern Wyoming Friday night and Saturday as another system will roll across the Rockies.
