Winter Storm Developing

By DayWeather, Inc. posted Dec 22, 2009 at 3:30PM

Holiday travelers should be prepared for poor travel conditions tonight and likely through Thursday as a very large storm system will be developing over the state and region. Much colder temperatures and snow will develop over most, if not all of Wyoming by late tonight and into early Wednesday. Periods of snow and much colder temperatures will be found statewide Wednesday through early morning on Christmas Eve Thursday. Snowfall amounts are likely to be generally light to moderate (2 to 6 inches) across the plains, however, brisk winds and very cold temperatures will result in icy roads and blowing snow. Very cold temperatures will be found statewide Wednesday through Friday with temperatures dropping near to below zero in many areas Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights. Very poor travel weather will be found across Colorado, South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas Wednesday through Friday.
