Cheyenne Police Officer Remembers What Is Was Like

Growing up in Denver Jose Ruiz remembers a couple Christmas’ where there were no gifts under the tree.  Ruiz says his family was poor and needed help to get through the holidays.  He also remembers the Denver Police Department offering help to his family with gifts which left a lasting impression on him.  Now a Cheyenne police officer, Jose Ruiz has started a holiday fundraiser to help families in need here in the capital city.  Ruiz and the department has raised more than 15-hundred dollars which will go to four local families…(Click here for comment from Jose Ruiz)

Ruiz says one of the local families being helped has five children.  And the family’s wish this Christmas is new tires for their car.

Cheyenne police officers will deliver the presents on Christmas morning.
