Southeastern Wyoming has taken the brunt of the storm so far while snowfall has been lighter across the central counties. As of early afternoon many areas of Albany, Laramie, Platte and Goshen counties have received 4 to 8 inches of snow across the lower elevations with 8 to 16 inches of snow reported in the higher elevations of the Snowy and Laramie Range mountains. Snowfall of 1 to 4 inches have been reported across the central and southwest areas of the state. In addition to the heavier snow, southeastern Wyoming has also experienced gusty north winds resulting in blowing and drifting snow. The snow and blowing snow has resulted in some road closures today. Snow and blowing snow will persist into the night and into the day on Thursday, especially in central, eastern and southeastern Wyoming. Additional snowfall of 3 to 6 inches can be expected on the plains tonight and early Thursday with another 4 to 10 inches in the mountains of central and southeastern Wyoming. Some foothill locations west of Denver have received 24 inches of snow since last night.
